Jill Bargonetti, a renowned cancer researcher and educator/scholar, earned her B.A. at SUNY College at Purchase and her M.S. and Ph.D. at New York University, and carried out postDoctoral work at Columbia University. She serves as professor and past chair of the Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology subprogram of the Ph.D. Program in Biology at The CUNY Graduate Center, and as Director of the NSF funded Post-baccalaureate program www.NYRaMP.org, and as Hesselbach professor of biological sciences at Hunter College. Since 1994, she has been running the Bargonetti Lab at Hunter College, where her team is using genetically engineered tools to research breast cancer.
